Finally here is the accuracy log for this watch:

As you can see, this watch is consistently ticking faster but I don't see any call for a re-calibration and I can live with that. Also, according to my calculation, say on average with a +8 secs:
8 secs x 30 days = 240 secs divided by 60 = 4 mins/mth
Hey, +4 minutes a month for an automatic watch is very reasonable. Let me share with you how I "compensate" this discrepancy. Say today my watch has a +4 minutes and I am going to adjust it. My trick is to adjust it to -4 minutes. Well again according to calculation, we will only need to readjust it every 2 months. Therefore 6 adjustments in a year is very doable. Hope this helps and have faith in 7S26 Seiko's movement.

Before putting in an order for this watch, I had been hunting around online for information but to my disappointment, there is not much about this watch other than some beautiful pictures and general descriptions about it. Since Seiko is a reputable watchmaker, I went ahead and ordered this watch online and it cost me USD$95 + $5 for postage from Singapore to Malaysia.
For your info, this is my very 1st Seiko watch. You may ask what made me want a Seiko watch? This I have one person to thank and that will be my beautiful wife. Because of her, I had the opportunity to take a closer look at Seiko made watches. Upon close examination of her 5++ yr old Seiko, I must say I was pretty impressed by Seiko's workmanship and quality. Hers is the Seiko Quartz Sapphire Crystal Ladies Watch and the model no. SWH057P1. For under USD $120, what more could one ask from such a great looking watch. Till today, this watch did not give her the slightest problem and I am
confident that it will continue to serve my missy for many more years to come. For the love-dovey couples, you are in luck, this great watch is also available for man -SJW043P1.
Let's get to unboxing the SNKF63K1. Seiko had included a plastic box for this watch and on some website, it was described as an egg-shaped looking box. Nothing fancy but it is enough to hold the watch securely as I bought mine online and it was posted to me. Overall the box is of good quality and sure enough I received my watch in good condition. The packaging includes an instruction manual printed in few languages and accompanied with a 1 year international warranty card.
A close-up view of the SNKF63K1 in its box. Note: it has a bright yellow second hand and it has this separate day-date windows. Most watches have this day-date windows set at the 3 o'clock position.
Here is a side profile of it and note that the crown is at the 4 o'clock position.
Again see how the bright yellow second hand stands out? A red second hand in my opinion will look wonderful too. I don't know the exact naming convention for this type of bezel, all I know is that it is fixed and the marking on it is black. Any real world application for it? I sure have no better idea and hope someone is kind enough to shed us some light. How long will the black marking stays? Only time can tell but I do hope it can last for as long as the watch lives.
Screwed down case back with see-through glass with some useful information (5 bar water resistant and 7S26) of the watch was printed on it too. I bet it is not of hardlex material but the glass on the face is though. Will be kind of nice if it comes with the sapphire version don't you guys think so?
I had to remove this many links as I have a 6.75 inch wrist size. Hopefully I won't need these spare links at all as that will mean I am putting on weight.
WARNING: See that pin looking post on the left? Be extremely careful because it has pretty sharp edge. It almost puncture my thumb when I tried to wash it. Other than that, I am unable to find any other sharp edges on any parts of the watch. In my opinion, the stainless steel bracelet is very decent and it will outlive the watch, so no worries at all.
Up to this point if you do like the look of this watch and just wondering how it will feel on your wrist? Well, trust me, it is very comfortable and the edges along the side of the bracelet is very smooth. Personally, I will give it a 9/10.
See how it wraps around my wrist? Very comfortable to wear this watch for long hours. This is very important for me as I wear my watch almost 23+ hrs daily. The only time it gets its break is when I take my daily shower.
By the way I like it snug fitting. Can't stand some people having their watch traveling up and down from their wrist to their elbow. For your info, elderly men seemed to wear their watch this way. Why? I did ask one old man (60+ yr old) before and the answer was more "convenient". Goodness gracious, good thing is that he didn't wear his pants the way he wears his watch ^ ^
Did not get a single pinch by the bracelet so far and thus all is good.
In terms of its weight and size, it is just slightly smaller compared to my 15+ yr old GMT-Master II. It has a pretty good size to weight ratio too. Heavy enough so you know you have a watch on your wrist. This watch is aesthetically pleasing but how about its accuracy? So far managed to take 4 separate readings over a span of 4 days duration. By the way, I got hold of this watch on 17 Feb. Here is my log.

In general, it is good to let the watch some time so that it can "settle in" after a couple of weeks and then test it for accuracy and calibrate accordingly. For now let me preach what I just said and by then when you guys come back, I will have more results. By the end of next month and if this watch gives a +5 mins/mth accuracy, I will be happy and will leave it alone with getting it re-calibrated. On 21/3, I will take another set of readings and then post it on this blog again.

But all these shortcomings are no real deal breaker. For those who like the look of this watch and still have your reservations. Go ahead and place your order and I am sure you will not be disappointed.
